Grooming
Just what does your companion pet(s) experience
in a day away from home at The Dog House Kennel and Grooming, Inc.?
What follows is a description of an average day for pet(s) that come
to spend a day having a makeover.
After your pet(s) is greeted and checked in, it will be first cared
for by one of our Certified Dermatech Pet(s)care Specialists.
These people are specially trained by the International Society of
Canine Cosmetologists. Your pet(s) will be examined so the
specialist can determine the best types of shampoos and conditioners
to use to enhance, volumize, whiten, brighten or shine the coat.
If your pet(s) has skin allergies, hot spots, or other
uncomfortable skin conditions, the Dermatech Specialist may decide
it is necessary to use a medicated shampoo to help soothe, cool and
protect the skin while still making your pet(s) coat look and feel
its very best.
After a lovely, warm bubble bath, excessively dry coats will be
treated to a marvelous hot oil treatment to intensify the moisture
absorption into the skin and coat. Your pet(s) will find treatment
very relaxing; they even receive a wonderful massage as part of the
process! To complete the hot oil treatment, your dog will be wrapped
in cozy warm towels for ten minutes while the treatment works its
soothing magic.
In some cases, your pet(s) will have arrived at our shop with some
unwanted hitchhikers-fleas or ticks! We provide an organic,
non-pesticide treatment to remove those pesky little tag-alongs.
We prefer this safe, effective herbal treatment over the harsh
chemical-based products on the market.
Following a refreshing rinse, a crème rinse is massaged into the
skin and coat to close the pores and aid in moisture retention.
Your pet(s) will be dried with special, soft towels, excess water
and loose fur will be whooshed away with a dryer designed especially
for canine coats.
The next stop will be your dogs pets’ Styling Specialist who will
brush and fluff your pet(s) to prepare its coat for that “oh so
special” style and clip.
Caring owners are often concerned about their dog being kept in a
cage. Let us assure you that dogs are cave dwelling creatures by
nature, and they find the snug enclosure of a cage to be a cozy and
safe den to rest in while they are between spa treatments. It
might surprise you to know that most dogs go right to sleep when
they are placed in a towel lined cage.
With all the pampering your pet(s) receives at The Dog House, is it
any wonder they greet you with such exuberance at the end of their
stay? Your companion not only looks his/her best, but also feels and
smells marvelous after a delightful day of canine spa treatment. |
